LT Gen Dr. Pramote Clinical Director

Tony Lyda , PGDP.

Senior Counsellor

Language(s): English

Tony is an integrative psychotherapist specializing in relational trauma healing and addiction. Born in the USA, he is now a dual citizen of both the United States and Australia. His professional journey began as a career firefighter, where he witnessed firsthand the profound effects of trauma and resilience. This experience ultimately led him to pursue therapeutic work in Melbourne, Australia, where he developed a passion for helping individuals navigate their healing journeys.

Tony utilizes a variety of clinical modalities to guide clients through the healing process, adopting a holistic and transformative approach. His flexible and creative methods recognize that each person’s trauma context and path to recovery are unique. He holds certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Family and Couples Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping), Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE), and Gaming Addiction. Additionally, his specialized training in Post Induction Therapy (PIT)/Inner Child Therapy provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the body’s role in both retaining and releasing trauma.

With a Postgraduate Degree in Psychology and a diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs Addiction, Tony brings over 14 years of experience as a mental health and addiction therapist. Previously, he worked in the Australian community health sector, providing specialized services to individuals with limited access to private therapy. His work involved addressing addiction and trauma in youth services and supporting individuals facing legal charges related to substance use.

Tony firmly believes that trauma is the underlying cause of most mental health disorders, addictions, and broader societal challenges. He emphasizes that conditioned beliefs and perceptions about the self, others, and the world can create limiting patterns, shaping a predictable future and identity. However, by identifying and healing these deeply ingrained thought and emotional systems, he believes individuals can free themselves from the constraints of the past and shape the future they desire. Encouraging practices such as trusting the body’s innate intelligence, elevating consciousness, and nurturing intuition, Tony empowers individuals to become their own healers and creators—transforming their future by healing their past.

With a Post Graduate Degree in Psychology and a diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs Addiction, I bring over 14 years of experience as a mental health and addiction therapist. Previously, I worked in the Australian community health sector, where I focused on providing specialized services to individuals who had limited access to private therapy. My work involved addressing addiction and trauma in youth services and assisting individuals dealing with legal charges stemming from their addiction.

I firmly believe that trauma serves as the underlying cause of almost all mental, addiction, cultural, societal, and global health disorders. I posit that conditioned beliefs and perceptions of self, others, and the world can bind us to a predictable future and identity. However, I advocate that by identifying and healing these thought and emotional systems, we can free ourselves from the shackles of the past and shape the future we desire. I encourage practices such as trusting our innate body intelligence, elevating our consciousness, and nurturing our intuition to become our own healers and creators. In other words, we can become our future selves by healing our past.
